Swift began writing music at the age of 11. Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift was a singer who took influences from the music of Shania Twain and that of the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world in country music composed the songs of her own to convey her experience with alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania in order to relocate towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could devote more of her time to courting country labels in nearby Nashville.
